His Wife Huguette Robert did not come to Nouvelle-France. She had gone to
live with her mother Marie Charrier. Here is a text that the Bellemare
Historical and Genealogical society published, there is more than two
years:
________________________
"In France, January 13, 1672, there was exchange of lots between Marie Charrier and Jacques Arnaud. It is Mr. Christian Siguret who discovered this contract, where he is written that Huguette Robert lives with his mother. This indicates to us that Étienne Gellineau was not widowed, at least until this date. The transaction occurred in the Marcouiller notary, with the borough of St-Eutrope of Saintes... "
"This contract, of which we have copy, contains interesting information. Marie Charrier was widowed on this date and lived with her daughter Huguette Robert, at the village of Charrier, parish of St-Eutrope of Saintes." _____________________________
You will especially find also much more information on this subject in the www.bertpage.ca Field with the Index-21.
